Falls

As we age, falling becomes a more significant issue due to the complication of the fall. Fractures are the most frequent outcome, but if the senior is on a blood thinner, they may have bleeding in their brain or significant bruising due to the fall. Seniors who experience fractures often are unable to regain the level of function that they had before the fracture. Not only is there a loss of physical function, but they may also have a loss of mental function and have a greater chance of death after the fracture. A caregiver in the home can assist the senior and minimize the likelihood of falls and limit the injury by their presence.
