Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

These conditions are due to failure of the efficiency of the heart. The heart is a pump and when it is not functioning properly, it is unable to push nutrition and oxygen rich blood to the cells of the body. When this occurs the senior experiences symptoms depending on where the inefficiency of the pump resides. There is often swelling or the feet and legs. There may be shortness of breath. There may be chest pain.
